Sanders Alignment – keeping Delta County on the road - 7/21/10

By Lindy J. Gwinn, Mountain Valley News staff

For more than 14 years Dan Sanders has been operating his specialized business in Peach Valley. Sanders Alignment has built a solid reputation in the world of automotive wheel alignment and repair.

“In a time that I see so many businesses struggling to survive, and so many of them that have not, I am very thankful to the customers that have kept my business open,” said Sanders shortly after his 14th anniversary at the Peach Valley location.

Personally, Sanders has been doing steering, suspension and brake work for more than 35 years. After working at several local businesses as a hired mechanic, he decided to jump in with both feet and start his own front-end shop.

When asked about the secret of his success, Sanders thoughtfully said, “You know, I love what I do, and I think that people like it because they know exactly who they are dealing with. I own the shop, and I do all my work personally. I work at very competitive prices, and people know that they can call me and I will answer their questions personally,” said Sanders.

“I really have to thank all the other businesses that refer people to me. I have lots of support businesses in the Delta County area that send work my way. There are support businesses, parts stores, tire stores and all kinds of auto related businesses in Cedaredge, Hotchkiss, Paonia, Delta and Olathe, that send people to me for work on their vehicles. Without those folks I would not do as well as I am able to do and I in turn refer people to their businesses too,” said Sanders.

“Other than loving what I do, I have to say that the other thing that I really enjoy is that I have met so many people through my business and I like getting to know people and helping them,” he said

“I think that people are staying home more. I used to have a lot of people that were planning holiday trips or vacations that wanted me to do alignments on their vehicles before they left on a trip and I have not seen near the amount of those kinds of customers in the last year. I think people are really thinking about how they are prioritizing their spending and they are staying much closer to home, especially this time of year when they are having to choose between heat, or maybe gifts and vehicle repairs,” said Sanders.

Sanders Alignment is one of those fine examples of local businesses that have dedicated owners and a constant work ethic.
