Grant and Debbie Pearman who own At Home Realty, have recently moved their real estate office from Cedaredge to their home on Coyote Run Road.
“Our whole approach to selling real estate is about personal, hands on, individual attention to our customers and we believed that we could do that much better working from our home office,” said Debbie. “There is really not much walk-in traffic in Cedaredge, so it didn't make a lot of sense to us to keep an office in town. Instead, we have built a website, and are available by phone for our clients,” she said.
Pearmans said they don't just have clients. They want everyone they do business with to consider themselves a friend.
“We have helped our clients paint, do garage sales, move furniture, clean up their property and really try to make the whole home buying and selling experience fun for people. We want to take the work and worry out of real estate deals and (we) really do try to educate people about the process they will go through. It's very important to help people set a price on their home that will allow it to sell in a timely fashion,” said Grant. “To us, the business is about building relationships as it is about selling real estate,” Debbie added.
Grant has been in the real estate business for many years, starting with manufactured home and land packages and then more recently becoming the owner/broker of At Home Realty.
“We welcome people who want their own agent to walk through one of our listings with a buyer. We don't mind that at all. People sometimes have agents they are comfortable working with and we welcome that,” said Debbie.
According to Pearmans this last winter and the economy has been a bit more difficult than it has been in the recent past. However, they say that this spring things are picking up and people are starting to look around more.
Grant is just completing the office he built on his property and is very pleased with the way the separate building has come together. “This is a place that I think people will feel very comfortable doing their business and we are just happy to have our home and business right here on one property,” said Debbie.
